Interview: BioShock 2's Finley On Designing For Player Desire
"Hard as it may be to remember now, the original BioShock was anything but a surefire hit. The game had a long, difficult development cycle, and during that cycle, studio Irrational was acquired by publisher 2K, becoming 2K Boston in the process.
Of course, the game went on to be one of the most lauded of the current console generation -- and despite its heavy themes of Objectivism and its unusual setting and art direction, also became quite a commercial hit at the same time.
The sequel is currently under development by 2K Marin, a new team that includes key members of the original game's staff alongside newcomers to the project. One of these original staff members of executive producer Alyssa Finley.
Here, in an interview extracted in part on Gamasutra a few days ago, the full chat with Finley ruminates about what elements of BioShock's game design led to its wide popularity.
Topics also covered: how a deep story can allow for different hooks into the game's setting, and how building a new studio with the right people is an essential piece of the puzzle when creating a game like this."

"2K Marin’s Alyssa Finley has announced that French company Arkane Studios has been bought in to facilitate development of upcoming shooter BioShock 2, bringing the total number of companies involved with the project to four.
The eagerly anticipated sequel is currently in the works at 2K Marin and will be produced in collaboration with 2K Australia. Meanwhile, Digital Extremes is tackling the game’s multiplayer component.
“BioShock 2 is a world class project led out of 2K Marin that features involvement from a variety of premiere studios from around the world," said Finley. "In the past we’ve been working closely with 2K Australia for our tech needs and Digital Extremes for our robust multiplayer experience.
"Today I’m proud to say that we’ve added another important developer to the mix. Under the direction and leadership of 2K Marin, Arkane is assisting in the creation of levels that embody the aesthetic and gameplay ideals that make BioShock such a unique and exciting experience."
BioShock 2 is due for release on PlayStation 3, PC and Xbox 360 later this year."

Neca's Bioshock 2 figurines showcased at Comic Con
NECA displayed prototypes of their upcoming BioShock 2 figurines at the San Diego Comic Con. While the poses of the models are not final, even these "work-in-progress" figurines are completely bad ass.

Não sei, como é que iriam fazer, não as poderiam incluir a todas, e também não iriam fazer uma edição para cada figura...era o que calhasse? xD

Bioshock 2 MP Characters Promotion Revealed
Over at the 2K game forums a poster has posted pics of the upcoming GameStop Bioshock 2 Pre-Order sales promotion. The promotion is as follows:
If you Pre-Order characters in Bioshock 2 with an exclusive pre-order deal, Blanche The Actress and Zigo The Fisherman will be unlocked for you. These characters were previously unannounced and are the first two characters from the multiplayer portion of the game that 2k has revealed.

I’ve definitely pre-ordered this title and cannot wait to receive my characters. Let’s just hope the MP portion of the game turns out as good as the singleplayer experience.

Este compro apenas pelo Single Player, multiplayer não me interessa muito, se o single player for melhor do que no primeiro (o que é dificil), espera-se um jogão. -
